Rosebowl winner Alistair Lyle receiving trophy from Captain Ian Kerr.
The Redcliffe Rosebowl, 36 hole strokeplay qualifier for the Club Championship, was played
last Saturday (6th August) in mainly dry conditions. The standard of golf was high from all 56 competitors.
The winning aggregate score was 138, from Andrew Farmer (Current Club Champion) and Alistair Lyle. Following a 3 hole play off, Andy and Alistair were still level so it moved onto sudden death, where Alistair prevailed at the 1st. This was Alistair’s first success in the event, but well deserved. Lowest score of the day was shot by Calum Morrison with an excellent 65 (4 under par).
The top 15 scores qualify for the knockout stages, where they join Andy Farmer the current
Champion. The knockout stages will be held over the weekend of 20/21st August with the final in the afternoon of the 21st. It is pleasing to note that 3 of the qualifiers this year come from our junior ranks, showing the high level of players in our junior section.
The draw for the knockout stages for the Club Championship has now been completed. This can be accessed via the link to the right of the page.
Best wishes to all players in the upcoming matches.
