We are very proud of our large, thriving junior section and positively encourage youngsters, regardless of age or ability, to experience the game of golf at our family orientated Club.

Why play golf? It encourages kids to abandon indoor online activity and make the most of the fresh air and camaraderie that they'll find at the golf club. It's challenging, it's exercise and it's really good fun.

Our Junior Convener, Lynda Bradley, has a wealth of experience as a former school teacher and national hockey manager. She has introduced a full and varied programme of coaching and competitions aimed at all levels. Coaching sessions are led by our resident PGA professional Stuart Roberts and his assistant David Parlane and run on Sundays followed by 3 hole flag, 7 hole blue course or 9&18 hole medal competitions, depending on ability.

Whilst Junior memberships start from age 10, members are able to accompany their children of any age to Sunday coaching sessions. Lynda's Mini Eagles embark on a pathway and progress through their Eagle Awards, triumphing with the acquisition of a handicap.

Our professional provides all the equipment necessary for coaching and our Easter and summer camps are extremely popular at the Club. Iain also provides a strong link with our local primary schools, making golf accesssible to all.

Jim Mackie oversees our Junior Newton Shield team. Inter club matches are generally played on a Friday evening and offer the opportunity for our Juniors to gain experience on other courses and to meet new golfers.

Kilmacolm has nurtured a number of national and international golfers throughout the years and we're delighted to have so many male and female golfing ambassadors - our most recent being a Junior to have won the Under 18's Scottish Handicap Championship and made her debut for Scotland at Under 16 level.

Juniors are an important part of the Club and discounts are available with all adult memberships. Please enquire.
