James Braid Association
The Kilmacolm Golf Course has been described, not inaptly, as “a miniature Gleneagles”.
We currently have reciprocal golf arrangements with The Association of James Braid Courses. This allows Kilmacolm members to enjoy significant discounts on green fees at other association courses and vice versa.
Although the golf club was established in 1891, Braid redesigned the larger 18 hole layout in 1924. It was later considered that “it abounds with natural hazards…compares favourably with many seaside courses and the greens, many of which are undulating, are kept in first class condition. The situation of the course, its general features, the quality of the turf and character of the greens are such that the Kilmacolm Golf Course has been described, not inaptly, as ‘a miniature Gleneagles’.”
